BSA SURF COACH LEVEL 1 COURSE
Surf South West will be running British Surfing Association Level 1 Surf Coach courses on the following dates:

Level 1 Coaching Course:
The 2 day course is led by Surf South West’s B.S.A. Level 3 Training/Assessor coach John Ellis. The course will cover all aspects of coaching at beginner level and lead to the Level 1 qualification which is an Asistant Coach Award allowing coaches to work at surf schools alongside more senior instructors. It is a basic requirement for surf coaches working at surf schools, surf clubs and schools and leads to the more advanced Level 2 qualification allowing coaches to instruct unsupervised.
The course is held at a conference facility at Croyde Bay Holiday Village next to Croyde Beach with tea/coffee facilites and lecture aids consisting of TV/DVD/Overhead Projector/Whiteboard/Flip Charts. The cost of the course is £150 per person.
Please note that in addition to attendance of the course and satisfactory completion of course tasks, candidates will also have to demonstrate the following:
Personal surfing competence – assessed during the course
A current Beach Life Saving Qualification acceptable to the BSA – can be obtained before or after the course
Thirty hours post course coaching experience with a BSA accredited surf school – can be completed with Surf South West.
Membership of the BSA
Hold a valid Criminal Records Bureau Check
To book a place on the course candidates must complete a course booking form and forward the full payment of £150. When we have received full payment a full information pack will be sent out with course handbook, arrival information, timings and an itinerary for the course.

Level 2 Coaching Course:
This 3 day course is for existing Level 1 coaches that want to advance their coaching careers and develop their skills to coach more advanced surfers.
